TeamPapa and some amateur friends activated a HAM activity to celebrate the Valentine’s Day at February 14, 2016. The activity was performed on HF bands and modes by “love stations”. The love stations are the callsigns with “LOVE” at the suffix as in TC4LOVE. Three love stations initiated are TC4LOVE from Turkey, IO0LOVE from Italy and Z34LOVE from Macedonia.
The activity period covered whole month February (1 to 29) in 2016. The activity is promoted simply as a “love call hunt” for DXers. At the end of the period we collected the logs from love stations and upload the data to our web based awarding software which was successfully used at “Goncasuyu DX Project” before.
The fist idea of celebrating Valentine’s day is extended for a universal concept of “LOVE” and for the whole year instead of a month activity. We have received may feedbacks expressing the Valentine Day was not a world-wide common culture. Therefore we decided to extend the scope of project to facilitate more participations. This year we hope many countries will be initiated within the project. The first announcement for 2017 is done pretty late in December 2016 due to hard works in website development. Although special callsign registration procedures are quite slow in some countries, considering a whole year activity, the timing is said to be acceptable. The activity will start at January 1st and end at Dec 31th of 2017. Awarding stage will start when the period ends, and last few days; 2017 awards will be downloadable in January 2018.
